Soils and compost

Landfill

Landfill is an unsifted and non-constant soil. Sometimes coming from soil deposits, it can be composed of sand, rock and clay. Usually used for filling.

Black soil

The most honest will tell you, this soil is more often used for the beautification of flower beds and vegetable gardens. This soil does not contain any adequate enrichment in order to offer guaranteed success to your plantations. It is also used to be mixed with very rich soil such as pure compost to obtain an ideal soil.

Garden soil

Composed of 25% black soil, 25% brown soil, 25% sand and 25% forest compost. Ideal for creating annual beds and perennials. Excellent for the kitchen garden, planting trees, shrubs and cedar hedges. Also used for repairing and seeding turf.

Top soil compost

The top soil is a natural and economical brown soil. Used for filling and ground leveling. Ideal for the installation of peat.

Clear stones

Heavy gauge clear stone, used for retaining walls and ditches.
These sizes are also available in the D50 variant.

D50 means 50% more large stone and meets MTQ standards.

White stone

White stones are natural and decorative. Our mix contains stones from 10 to 20 mm in size. Usually used for swimming pool, flower bed and smooth concrete slab contours. They can be used as a drainage stone since this stone is clean (does not contain stone dust).

7–8” ⅛ (20–30 mm)

Also called septic stone, it is used as a drainage stone for septic fields and French drains. Mixture from 20 to 30 mm.

¾ clear (10–20 mm)

The 10 to 20 mm clear stone, also called ¾ clear, is used for drainage. Perfect for French drains, behind low walls, retaining blocks, water retention basins or under balconies.

5–10 mm

5–10mm clear stone ideal for drainage around swimming pools and as an abrasive stone. Sometimes used for driveways.

River rocks

River rocks

Several mixes available:

  • ¼ to 1 inch
  • 1 to 2 inches
  • 1 to 3 inches
  • 3 to 8 inches

They are decorative and natural stones. Usually used for decoration around swimming pools, ponds and flower beds. They can also be used as a drainage stone.

Black mulch

Also made of 100% cedar and stained with water-based stain. Our colored mulch is available in chocolate brown, black or red. When it comes to maintenance, simply stir the mulch with a pitchfork so that it regains its beautiful color.

Brown mulch

Also made of 100% cedar and stained with water-based stain. Our colored mulch is available in chocolate brown, black or red. When it comes to maintenance, simply stir the mulch with a pitchfork so that it regains its beautiful color.

Red mulch

Also made of 100% cedar and stained with water-based stain. Our colored mulch is available in chocolate brown, black or red. When it comes to maintenance, simply stir the mulch with a pitchfork so that it regains its beautiful color.

Natural cedar mulch

Our mulch is made from 100% cedar. With its natural appearance, it contributes to the beautification of your flower beds. It promotes good soil moisture and decreases the spread of weeds.

Certified playground fiber

Used for children’s play areas. This fiber is continuously used by municipal parks, childcare centers and schools because this product is 100% natural, additive-free, non-toxic and compliant with standards. It has excellent shock absorption capacity in the event of a fall. This greatly reduces the risk of injury. This product ensures a decrease in the spread of weeds.

Sands

Filtering sand

This sand is used for water filtration. Usually used for septic tanks and absorption fields.

Certified playground sand

Sand for parks and playground structures. It is completely inorganic and certified. This product is very safe since it has excellent shock absorption and drainage capacity. This sand complies with standards.

Golf course sand

From the Hutcheson Sand & Mixes Québec range. On request only.

Abrasive sand

Coarse sand excellent for winter maintenance of paths and driveways. It allows the traction of vehicles on ice.

Grout sand

Grout sand is ideal for all your masonry work. Also used for plastering exterior foundations.

Pool sand

This sand is mainly used as a land base to accommodate a swimming pool. Very popular for children’s play areas or volleyball courts since it does not contain any sharp particles (stones). Over time, pool sand becomes compact. We would like to point out that this sand does not stain clothes.

Class B sand

Class B is an economical backfill sand. It unsifted and may contain small pebbles and clay.

Compaction sand (MG-112 unsifted)

The unsifted MG-112 is sand taken directly from the bank. It is therefore non-constant and may contain pebbles the size of a basketball. It is normally used as a filling sand.

Compaction sand (MG-112)

MG-112 is a sifted, constant sand containing 0 to 4 inch gravel. Usually used as a filling sand.

Compaction sand (CG-14)

CG-14 is sifted and constant sand. Intended for filling, it is commonly used for solidifying soil and foundations. It is also resistant to freezing and soil swelling.

Granular

We also offer a weighing service. Scale dimension is (10’x80’)

Dumpsites

We accept stump and branch, dirt and asphalt deposits. Note that all deposits must not contain construction materials or lumber, geotextile, metal reinforcement and no contaminants.

Black recycled asphalt

Recycled asphalt is an economical and ecological solution to paving your driveway. It offers more value for your money. Once properly installed, asphalt protects your driveway from erosion caused by water and wind.

Dust

This 0 to ¼ inch mixture is ideal for compaction. Also used as a finishing undercoat when installing concrete slabs, uni-stone, spa and shed.

Easy to install.

0–2 ½ (MG-56)

The MG-56 is a stone mix ranging from 0 to 2 ½ inches. This stone is also a compaction stone and since this granular is larger in gauge than 0–¾, it is mainly used as a lower foundation to increase the strength of your soil.

Available in gravel (brown), stone (gray) or MTQ (which meets MTQ standards).

Not recommended for drainage.

0–¾ (MG-20)

The 0–¾ crushed stone is a mixture of stones ranging from 0 to 3⁄4 inch. 0–¾ is a compaction stone and is used to solidify the soil. Mainly used as an upper foundation for low walls and pavers, concrete slabs and pavements. Also very popular for residential and commercial parking lots and more.

Available in gravel (brown), stone (gray) or MTQ (which meets MTQ standards).

Not recommended for drainage.
